The Long Table is a monthly workshop series at The Stranger Lodge. Each one is led by a different local artist or maker, and you don’t need any experience to join, just some curiosity and a willingness to get your hands busy.

We started it because some of the best nights happen when strangers sit down together and make something. It’s also our way of supporting the artists and makers who keep Sisters interesting.

The Long Table: Spooky Terrariums

Pull up a chair and get your hands in the dirt. Join John, owner of Somewhere That's Green, for an evening of building a 12” terrarium from scratch. You will leave with something alive, a little spooky, and entirely your own. No experience necessary. All supplies included.

John has spent years helping people fall in love with plants, one cutting at a time. His Bend shop, Somewhere That's Green, has been voted Best Indoor Plant Shop for the last seven years. John’s passion and knowledge of plants shows in everything he does, including workshops like these! This is NOT TO BE MISSED!

The Long Table: Herbal Holiday Elixirs

Join Emma Thompson, Ayurvedic practitioner and founder of Gigi’s, for an evening of making festive holiday drinks with real intention behind them. You’ll work with Ayurvedic formulas, herbal syrups, playful flavors, and artful garnishes, and you’ll leave with practical ways to bring Ayurveda, an ancient medicine practice, into your own kitchen. These are much more than mocktails.

This one is made for sharing. If you have family or friends in town for the holidays, it’s an easy, low-key way to spend an evening together before the big day. The atmosphere is relaxed, no experience is necessary, and first-timers are always welcome at the table.

Gigi’s is grandmother wisdom delivered with a bit of old-fashioned sass. Emma’s elixirs are built from herbs, spices, and apothecary remedies, and while Gigi’s started as a brick-and-mortar bar, it now pops up exclusively for events and celebrations. We’re thrilled to have it pop up at The Stranger Lodge for the night.

Wednesday, November 25th from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at The Stranger Lodge, 511 W Cascade Ave, Sisters, OR 97759. $35 includes two drinks plus all infusions and syrups. Limited to 24 guests. Note: this session meets on a Wednesday instead of our usual fourth Thursday, which falls on Thanksgiving this year.
